The BMW iX has received a long-awaited update for the 2026 model year. With these changes, the new BMW iX xDrive45 has been introduced, finally making its way to the U.S., offering a more affordable option. Additionally, BMW has enhanced technology, improved efficiency, and refreshed the design.
In this post, we’ll go over the most important updates, new models, and technologies that make the 2026 BMW iX an even better choice for electric SUV enthusiasts.
The refreshed BMW iX will be available in three versions:
One of the biggest highlights is the introduction of the BMW iX xDrive45 to the U.S. market. This model offers:

✅ Range of up to 342 miles (550 km)
✅ 402 HP and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque
✅ 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds
✅ Top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h)
This is great news for those looking for a more affordable BMW iX. The starting price is $76,325, making it more accessible than previous versions.
The BMW iX xDrive60 replaces the xDrive50 but comes with upgrades:
? 536 HP and 564 lb-ft (765 Nm) of torque
? 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds
? Range of up to 342 miles (550 km)
? 113.4 kWh battery
Starting price: $89,675
BMW has improved the efficiency of the new model by 10% compared to its predecessor, giving the iX xDrive60 better range and performance.

The BMW iX M70 is for those who want top-tier performance and a sporty electric SUV.
